School Liaison Officers will walk parents through the science of reading, help parents understand virtual tools that can help such as: Tutor.com, Khan Academy and the Louisiana Department of Education Family Toolbox.
A parent volunteer will share her story about how she learned to navigate the transient school environment with her military child who struggles with learning. She will offer information about a comprehensive multi-sensory reading program that empowered her to tutor her child and other military children. She will also be available to offer guidance and answer questions about what resources and mentors are available at other installations and posts.
